What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy? How does Cognitive Behavioural Therapy help?

It is a short-term psychotherapy approach that aims to change the way you think and behave in order to manage problems. It is the most recommended approach to treat anxiety, panic disorder, depression, OCD and PTSD.

I will help you to identify and change any negative thinking patterns and behaviour which may be causing you difficulties. In turn this can change the way you feel about situations and enable you to change your behaviour in future. You and I might focus on what is going on in your life right now, but we might also look at your past, and think about how your past experiences impact the way you see the world.

You may find Schema therapy helpful if any of the following apply to you:

  • Anxiety Disorders (Phobias, Health anxiety, Death anxiety, Generalized Anxiety Disorder)
  • Worrying
  • Perfectionism
  • Panic attacks
  • Panic disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Eating Disorders
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
